Kobe shushinkan (fukuju)
Major Brand: Fukuju, Frozon Umeshu Location: Higashinada, Kobe “Nada Sake Brewing District” has five areas. Fukuju is in the west, “Mikage-go.” Founded in 1751, the flagship blue bottle, Fukuju Junmai Ginjo has been presented at Novel Prize banquets.
Major Brand: Miyako-Bijin Location: Minami Awaji, Hyogo Located in Awajishima Island, which is believed to be the first island made by gods in the Japanese mythology. Focused on traditional ways, placing much value on Yamahai, one of the classic brewing methods.
Major Brand: Shirayuki Location: Itami, Hyogo Founded iin 1550, and represented “Itami,” one of the birth places of sake. Also, known for being a pioneer of importing craft beers from all over the world.
Major Brand: Hakutsuru Josen, Maru Location: Higashinada, Hyogo The biggest sales and production volume of sake in Japan. Hakutsuru Sake Museum is a must-see establishment as a tourist attraction in Kobe area.
Major Brand: Junsei, Fu Location: Kasai, Hyogo Founded in 1839, located in the region of “Yamadanishiki,” the king of sake rice. Brewery restaurant is a great place to learn about their sake as well as local tastes.
